Job Title: Yard Attendant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Attendant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of yard functions including recording key information on incoming vehicles, assisting with their upkeep and maintenance, and ensuring the yard remains in excellent condition. You will collaborate with a team of approximately 8 yard attendants, all committed to maintaining the highest standards of service.

Responsibilities

Record key information on incoming items using a tablet, iPad, or paper.Perform thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks, including car cleaning and interior detailing.Conduct general yard maintenance such as snow removal and weeding.Operate and handle items as needed, with forklift/loader operation as a nice-to-have skill.Work independently and collaboratively to ensure efficient yard operations.

Essential Skills

Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions.Strong reporting and auditing skills, with the ability to use paper or tablet devices.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and assist where needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a similar industry is beneficial.Proficiency in computer skills is advantageous.

Work Environment

You will be working outdoors in Acheson, Alberta, and will report to both the branch manager and yard supervisor. The team is comprised of about 10 hardworking and reliable individuals who foster a supportive and enjoyable work culture. The standard shift runs from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, but the facility operates from 6 am to 10 pm, offering flexibility for additional hours if desired. Being comfortable with outdoor work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and shine, is essential.
