Job Title: TechnologistJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Technologist who will be responsible for explaining procedures and processes to patients, rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating charts, and escorting them to the imaging room. The role involves performing medical assistant duties such as recording vital signs, collecting health history, and updating the Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The candidate will maintain a safe, healthy, and professional work environment, prepare patient charts according to schedule, handle interoffice communications, and complete assigned tasks promptly.

ResponsibilitiesExplain procedures and processes to patients.Room patients, take vital signs, update charts, and escort them to the imaging room.Perform medical assistant duties, including recording vital signs, collecting health history, and updating the EMR.Maintain a safe, healthy, and professional work environment.Prepare patient charts according to the daily and/or weekly schedule, ensuring all records are accurate and available prior to visits.Handle interoffice phone calls, respond to emails and communications from physicians and staff, and monitor the fax inbox—assigning documents to the appropriate secretary.Review and complete assigned tasks throughout the day.Accurately complete and submit timesheets for payroll processing by the close of business on the last day of each pay period.Complete all required training, including new hire onboarding, departmental training, and annual compliance in a timely manner.Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager based on business needs.Essential SkillsLaboratory experienceMedical technology experienceIdeally more than 6 months of experienceAbility to handle about 30 patients a dayComfortable with both tech work and CMA workAdditional Skills & QualificationsOrthopaedic experienceAdvanced MD experienceEpic EMR experienceFront and back office experienceWork Environment

The position is located in a fast-paced orthopedic office, where the technologist will see a mix of 30 patients a day or as few as 8 patients a day, depending on provider availability. The schedule is Monday to Thursday, with no weekend work required. The hours are as follows: Monday from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, totaling 39.5 hours per week. The patient flow is scheduled, allowing staff to anticipate daily activities, unlike urgent care settings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freehold, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.
