Why This Role Matters
The Washington Post is seeking an experienced senior sales executive to sell a new premium membership experience. This role is pivotal in building and launching a high-end product that caters to the needs of influential leaders and executives who want to be part of the Post’s new thought leadership products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the B2B membership space, with a proven track record of creating and selling products tailored for top-tier executive audiences.
How You Will Support the MissionSales and Business Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to acquire and retain members from c-suite, policy, and thought leadership circles.
Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and outreach, building strong relationships with key decision-makers.
Event and Thought Leadership Coordination:
Oversee the planning and execution of exclusive events that convene influential leaders for networking, discussions, and collaboration.
Collaborate with editorial and research teams to produce high-quality journalism and original reports that provide value to members.
Client Relationship Management:
Maintain and nurture relationships with existing members, ensuring high satisfaction and engagement with the premium membership offerings.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Monitor sales performance, membership engagement, and overall product success, providing regular reports to senior management.
Utilize data and insights to continuously refine and improve the membership offering and sales approach.
Experience and Skills You BringBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, membership development, or product management, specifically targeting executive audiences.
Proven track record of building and selling high-end products or memberships to c-suite executives, policy leaders, and thought leaders.
Strong understanding of the media industry and the needs of executive-level clients.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies.
Experience in planning and managing high-profile events and producing thought leadership content.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range for this position is:
$101,775 - $169,625 AnnualThe actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
