This role is a key technical contributor within the Workday Center of Excellence and will support critical HCM operations, the employee lifecycle and complex compensation planning events. This role collaborates closely with Human Resources (HR), Payroll, Finance and Information Technology (IT) to develop scalable, high-quality Workday solutions aligned with organizational strategy and governance standards. **RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS** Job Description **Essential Duties** As a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service and Core Values is a fundamental part of this job. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows: **Advanced Compensation Configuration and Ownership** + Lead the configuration, maintenance and optimization of Advanced Compensation, including merit, bonus, stock plans and compensation cycle events. + Build, test and validate compensation configurations for both annual and off-cycle events. + Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point for all Advanced Compensation updates, enhancements and production issue troubleshooting. **Core HCM Configuration** + Configure and maintain foundational HCM components such as supervisory organizations, job architecture, positions and compensation structures. + Design and optimize business processes, routing, conditions and workflow logic supporting HCM and compensation operations. + Ensure data quality and platform accuracy through proactive audits, validations and monitoring activities. **Data Loads, Tools and Operational Support** + Support data uploads and mass updates using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIBs), including compensation adjustments, supervisory org changes, position management updates and other large-scale HCM activities. + Perform root-cause analysis and implement configuration fixes or enhancements as needed. **Cross-Functional Collaboration and Solution Design** + Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable Workday configurations. + Provide Workday best practices and guidance to ensure system stability, maintainability, and enhanced user experience. + Participate in configuration governance, including design reviews, impact assessments and documentation. **Testing, Documentation and Release Readiness** + Lead testing efforts including test script creation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for projects and semi-annual Workday releases. + Evaluate Workday release notes for Core HCM and Advanced Comp, identify relevant features and recommend adoption strategies. + Document configuration decisions, process flows and solution designs to support knowledge sharing and long-term governance. **Partner Enablement** + Provide training or knowledge transfer sessions to HR, Payroll and other functional partners to ensure successful adoption of new configuration or platform enhancements. + Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Core Competencies** + Deep expertise in Workday configuration across HCM, Payroll, Talent and Compensation, with strong understanding of cross-module dependencies and downstream impacts + Proven experience configuring Workday Business Process Framework, including condition rules, validations, approvals, notifications and security-driven workflow design + Strong capability in calculated fields, custom reports and dashboards to support eligibility rules, analytics and operational reporting + Hands-on experience managing tenant configuration and governance, including tenant setup, feature enablement, release readiness and sandbox-to-production migration + Effective communicator and stakeholder partner, translating business requirements into scalable, Workday-native configuration solutions **Experience and Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or related field + 5+ years of Workday configuration experience, including 3+ years specifically supporting Advanced Compensation + Hands-on experience with Core HCM and familiarity with additional modules such as Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking or Payroll + Strong understanding of Workday business processes, compensation structures, HCM organizational structure configuration and best practices + Demonstrated analytical, communication and project management skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions **Preferred Qualifications** + Workday Pro Certification or Workday Partner Certification in HCM or Compensation + Familiarity with other integration tools such as Workday Studio or Workday Extend + Experience working in an Agile or iterative development environment + Ability to build custom reports or dashboards to support HCM and compensation planning analytics **ABOUT SUNRISE** Ready to take the next step and make a bigger impact than you ever imagined?
