Wire Extruder Operator

Job Description

Looking for Wire Extruder Operator in for large production facility in Santa Ana, CA. Pay based on experience ($25-$35 typically but can be higher with the right experience), with shifts available on 1st (6am-2:30pm) and 2nd (2:30pm-11pm).

The Wire Extruder Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery used in the production of wire and cable products, ensuring materials are processed according to specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate wire extrusion machines according to job specifications.Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent product quality and detect malfunctions.Adjust machine settings such as temperature, speed, and pressure to optimize output.Load raw materials into the extruder and ensure proper feeding throughout the process.Inspect finished wire products for defects and verify dimensions using measuring tools.Perform routine maintenance on extrusion equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.Record production data and report any issues to the supervisor.Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE (e.g., gloves, ear protection).Assist with packaging and labeling of finished wire products.

Essential Skills

Experience with extrusion, ideally wire extrusion.Mechanical aptitude and inclination.Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math.Prior experience in machine operation or extrusion preferred.Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and work orders.Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79040.00/yr.
