**Wire Extrusion Machine Operator** Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for a 2nd shift position (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM) at our shop in Santa Ana, CA. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery used in the production of wire and cable products. This role is vital in ensuring materials are processed according to specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Responsibilities + Set up and operate wire extrusion machines according to job specifications. + Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent product quality and detect malfunctions. + Adjust machine settings such as temperature, speed, and pressure to optimize output. + Load raw materials into the extruder and ensure proper feeding throughout the process. + Inspect finished wire products for defects and verify dimensions using measuring tools. + Perform routine maintenance on extrusion equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. + Record production data and report any issues to the supervisor. + Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE, such as gloves and ear protection. + Assist with packaging and labeling of finished wire products. Essential Skills + Experience in extrusion, particularly with wire products. + Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints. + Experience in machine setup and operation. + Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and work orders. + Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Prior experience in machine operation or extrusion preferred. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. + Willingness to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
