WHS Consultant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our JLT Public Sector team at Marsh. This role will be based in Brisbane. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.


A unique consulting opportunity currently exists within our JLT Public Sector business to assist with Safety Management Systems and general WHS advice for the Member Councils of the Local Government Workcare Self-Insurance Scheme (LGW). You will be part of a team delivering health, safety and wellbeing solutions to local government clients across Queensland.

We will count on you to:

Provide clients with strategic and operational solutions to health, safety and wellbeingDevelop and/or review safety management system components for clientsReview legislative and best practice requirements and compile awareness/training packagesEnsure accuracy and adequacy of information published on the LGW websiteWork as part of a team for key client projects through a variety of targeted initiatives

What you need to have:

Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or a related disciplineExperience with the development and implementation of safety management systemsExperience working under a Self-Insurance model including experience with working under the National Audit Tool, preferred but not essentialCurrent Queensland White or Blue Construction Safety Induction CardCurrent QLD Drivers License is required at all timesBe a solution focused thinker with the ability to deliver operational outcomes for our clientsAbility to engage, influence and motivate through well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (including ability to tailor communications to suit a broad range of clients)Ability to foster and sustain client relationshipsDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage own workload and competing priorities to meet deadlinesTravel within Queensland will be required

Experience working with Local Government clients or within the public sectorKnowledge of the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 and self-insurance schemesPrevious experience in a consulting environment
