Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Wet Etch/Wet Clean Sustaining Equipment Engineering Manager I for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located in Linthicum, Maryland (near Baltimore) – where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.
Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.
What you'll get to do:
The Wet Etch/Wet Clean Sustaining Equipment Engineering Manager I will be responsible for technical and management activities associated with the Foundry Semiconductor Equipment Engineering specifically focused on equipment availability and continuous improvement. They will be expected to establish appropriate factory metrics goals, along with supervising cross functional engineering teams to achieve those goals. They will coordinate with other managers, including Line Maintenance and Operations on utilizing resources and setting priorities on tactical tool recoveries along with strategic tool availability efforts with groups like Operations, Process Engineering, and Process Integration.
In addition, the Semiconductor Sustaining Engineering Manager will be responsible for staffing, employee tasking, project management, budget oversight, and program/engineering interface activities. Functional duties include hiring, on-boarding, personnel performance assessments, time charging approval, and employee development.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; MS degree and 3 years
Familiarity or understanding of wet etch/wet clean semiconductor manufacturing
Experience with CMMS and other manufacturing execution systems and subsystems (for example, Xsite, Maximo, Maintenance Connect, etc)
Must have some leadership or management experience
US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or Physics and 7 years of relevant experience
Experience with wets processing semiconductor equipment maintenance
Experience as a tool vendor Field Service Engineer preferred
Experience with Xsite
Experience with factory automation systems such as PLCs a plus
Experience interfacing with multiple vendors spanning many disciplines including manufacturing vendors and trades
Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
