Wellness Center Coordinator

The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs and guidelines for patients, employees and the Capital Health community in accordance with outlined objectives. Advises and assists with elements of the Capital Health Employee Wellness Program as well as other assigned patient and member programs.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:Bachelor's Degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, or related allied health or three years’ related experience in lieu of a degree. American College Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) preferred.

Experience:Three years of experience developing and delivering personalized wellness programs for individuals. Experience from a healthcare setting preferred. Previous experience in the administration of physical assessments including blood pressure, heart rate, rate of perceived exertion, movement patterns, and exercise prescriptions required.

Other Credentials:AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,AHA Heartsaver AED

Knowledge and Skills:Strong communicator, effective promoter, inspiring worker. Takes initiative to grow programming and has strong organizational skills.

Special Training:Additional experience in business program coordination and communication preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:Ability to work independently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCoordinates assigned Wellness Center programs, including client fitness assessments, client class scheduling, and coordination with departments in partnership for mutual programs.Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive programs that drive client goal achievement and Wellness Center retention.Advises medical professionals on the benefits of exercise for medical conditions.Collaborates with physicians to identify patients appropriate for referral to Wellness Center programs. Reviews clients' medical history, assess risks, and develop individualized exercise plans, based on physician's referral.Collaborates with physician leader of the program to develop, implement, and revise protocols based on the individual needs of the patient populations served.Maintains and shares outcomes data for patients, enrolled in Wellness Center programs. Tracks and reports on program participation, effectiveness, and satisfaction.Understands, discusses, and promotes the Wellness Center, is actively involved with assigned program development, special events and other Wellness Center related events.Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.Collaborates with Capital Health Human Resources director on the design, implementation, and execution of elements of the Employee Wellness Program with the objective of improving the health status of employees, lowering medical plan costs, and reducing incidents of absence due to illness and injury.Performs other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
