**Job Title: Welding Inspector**
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team in Savannah, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring welding activities meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining integrity and quality across projects.
Responsibilities
+ Perform visual inspections of welds and ensure compliance with all applicable codes.
+ Monitor welding operations to ensure proper techniques and materials are used.
+ Maintain detailed inspection records and generate reports for internal and client use.
+ Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve welding issues.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
+ Train and mentor junior welders and inspectors as needed.
+ Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures.
+ Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
+ Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
+ Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
+ Communicate information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.
+ Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and/or Project Managers.
+ Assist more senior inspectors on projects.
+ Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
+ Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
+ Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Essential Skills
+ Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
+ Minimum of 3 years of welding inspection experience.
+ Familiarity with welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API 1104, etc.).
+ Strong understanding of metallurgy, welding processes, and fabrication techniques.
+ Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
+ NDT certifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
+ Experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical, concrete testing, nondestructive testing, and radiation safety.

Work Environment
The position involves working both in field and shop environments, with travel to job sites or client facilities. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. Expect to work outside in varying weather conditions, near heavy equipment, in operating facilities, and adjacent to traffic ways. The role may require working at heights, in confined areas, and exposure to moderate noise levels. Physical demands include regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Overnight travel may be required in support of projects in various locations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, Georgia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
