Description
Basic Function: Sets-up and operates GMAW (MIG) equipment on mild steel, aluminum and stainless according to blueprints and shop drawings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
+ Reads work orders and parts lists.
+ Works from blueprints given in work orders.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in welding. Determines material type and thickness of weld wire to use.
+ Sets-up welding equipment per material type listed on work order. Welds weldments per work order and blueprints.
+ Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products prior to welding.
+ Uses basic power hand tools and grinders to clean up weld work e.g. de-burring, clean weld splatter.
+ Completes a visual inspection of welded assemblies.
+ Supports the Hartzell Culture initiatives and displays and portrays the Hartzell Values.
+ Follows all safety practices and rules.
+ Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
+ Support and completes other duties given by team leader as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications and Required Skills:
+ Trade School Certificate or 2 years of welding experience
+ Experience with and knowledge of hand tools.
+ Strong blueprint interpretation / reading skills.
+ Ability to crouch and kneel.
+ Must be able to pass written quiz and hands on weld test.
Salary Description
Wages: $23.50-$25.50 in the first year!
