**Job Title: Welder Helper** **Job Description** Join our team as a Welder Helper, where you will primarily engage in MIG welding on steel and aluminum, with a focus on aluminum welding. Occasionally, you may perform TIG welding. We manufacture scales for a variety of applications, including military contracts. Our facility is equipped with Miller welders, and while we have a dedicated grinder, welders are sometimes expected to grind their own welds. The welding tasks are straightforward, requiring a decent finish without the demand for perfection seen in other shops. For handling larger parts, hoists and tables are available to assist you. **Responsibilities** + Perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum components. + Engage in occasional TIG welding tasks. + Grind welds when necessary to ensure a clean finish. + Collaborate with the team to manufacture scales for various applications. + Utilize hoists and tables for managing larger parts. **Essential Skills** + At least 1 year of welding experience or relevant education/schooling. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols or demonstrate a willingness to learn. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with stainless steel MIG and TIG welding is a plus, particularly 5 years or more. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a relaxed company culture with supportive management that values flexibility. The dress code is casual with jeans and a T-shirt, as you might get a little dirty. Steel-toed boots are suggested but not mandatory. The shop has an average lighting setup and offers a 30-minute lunch break along with two 15-minute breaks throughout the day. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamel, MN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
