**Job Title: Welder/Fitter** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our team, specializing in custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will fabricate the metal framework for cabinets housing electrical switchgears and power distribution systems. **Responsibilities** + Read blueprints and take precise measurements for metal fabrication. + Perform light fit-ups of sheet metal using Flux Core welding and sometimes MIG in the 2G position. + Weld on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet metal up to 3/8" thick. + Work independently to fit and weld assigned workpieces. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of welding experience. + Proficiency in thin sheet metal and aluminum welding. + Expertise in Flux Core welding techniques. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use measuring tape. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in MIG welding. + Knowledge of 11 gauge and 14 gauge sheet metal. + Competency in 3G welding and extensive fitting. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that prioritizes employee well-being by regularly catering meals and hosting community events. Join a fast-paced production environment with around five welders on the day shift and three at another location. The adjacent machine shop includes machine operators, fabricators, quality control personnel, material handlers, and will soon have powder coaters. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. Night shift hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00pm to 6:00am, with a typical workweek of 50-60 hours. Day shifts are also available with similar hours. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
