**Job Title: Welder Fitter**
**Job Description**
We are currently seeking an experienced welders and shipfitters to join our team. The employee will be responsible for welding, fabricating, assembling, and installing structural components and systems on ships and marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipbuilding principles, be proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings, and possess excellent welding and metalworking skills.
**Essential Skills**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ +5 years of proven experience as a fabricator, welder, fitter or similar metalworking role within a maritime or shipbuilding environment.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
+ Strong welding and metalworking skills, including experience with various welding processes.
+ Familiarity with shipbuilding materials, tools, and equipment.
+ Knowledge of shipbuilding principles and practices.
+ Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects.
**Work Environment**
Large, loud manufacturing environment with current work hours of four 10-hour days and mandatory 8-hour overtime on Fridays until work is caught up. Openings for both 1st shift (starting at 6am) and 2nd shift (starting at 4pm) with a 10% differential for 2nd shift. Working in a government facility. Pay can be $25-35/hr based on experience and testing.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00/hr.
