**Welder/Fabricator – Day Shift (Punta Gorda, FL)** **Position:** Welder/Fabricator **Location:** Punta Gorda, FL **Schedule:** Full‑Time, Day Shift **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team on the day shift. This role focuses heavily on fabrication work, reading and interpreting blueprints, and producing high‑quality parts and assemblies to specification. The ideal candidate is skilled in MIG/TIG welding, layout, cutting, measuring, and building projects from prints with minimal supervision. **Key Responsibilities** + Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication diagrams. + Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum (depending on project needs). + Fabricate parts and assemblies from raw material using saws, grinders, torches, shears, and press brakes. + Lay out, fit, and position components accurately according to prints and measurements. + Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, and levels. + Perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure parts meet specifications. + Operate fabrication equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work area. + Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines. **Qualifications** + 2+ years welding and fabrication experience required. + Strong ability to read detailed blueprints and follow fabrication instructions. + Proficient in MIG (TIG is a plus). + Experience with cutting, grinding, and metalworking tools. + Ability to work independently and complete projects with accuracy. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. **Physical Requirements** + Ability to lift 50 lbs. + Standing, bending, and working with tools for extended periods. + Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Punta Gorda, FL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
