**Welder/Fabricator – Fit‑Ups & Layouts - 1st Shift** **Location:** Chattanooga, TN **Pay:** $24–$27 per hour (based on experience) **Schedule:** Full‑time **About the Role** We are seeking an experienced **Welder/Fabricator** who can independently handle **layout, fit‑up, and fabrication** of steel components from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, understands how parts come together, and can read and interpret complex blueprints without supervision. **Key Responsibilities** + Perform **MIG/Flux‑Core welding** on structural and fabricated components + Complete **own fit‑ups and layouts** using blueprints, drawings, and measurements + Fabricate assemblies, frames, brackets, and custom components to spec + Use cutting torches, grinders, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools + Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment before welding + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area + Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines **Required Experience & Skills** + 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience preferred + Strong ability to **read blueprints and perform accurate layouts** + Proficient in MIG and/or Flux‑Core welding + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision + Experience with fabrication tools (saws, torches, grinders, tape measures, squares) + Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with **jigs, fixtures, and custom fabrication** + Ability to weld in multiple positions + Familiarity with shop math and measurement tools + AWS certifications are a plus but not required **Why Join Us** + Competitive pay + Stable, long‑term opportunity + Overtime potential **Work Environment** The position is based in a non-temp controlled manufacturing facility, requiring steel toe shoes.
