**Job Title: Welder and Fitter** **Job Description** This position is for a skilled Welder Fitter who will be responsible for welding using Dual Shield techniques with large wire sizes. The role involves reading blueprints, building parts, performing layouts, and selecting equipment for part layout. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to cut, fit, tack material, and weld out according to engineering production drawings, and layout workpieces per drawings without guidance. **Responsibilities** + Perform welding using Dual Shield techniques with 16" weld wire size. + Read and interpret blueprints to build parts and perform layouts. + Select equipment and plan part layout: cut, fit material, tack material, and weld out according to engineering production drawings. + Layout workpieces per drawing without guidance or using standard fixtures. + Read and use a tape measure, compass, micrometer, mag level, protractor, versa gauge, and caliper. + Weld without the use of fixtures. + Set up and adjust machines and equipment as needed to produce quality parts. **MUST Haves** + At least 3 years of MIG welding experience. + Ability to weld without fixtures. + Experience in weld layout: cut, fit, and tack material according to prints. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting weld symbols. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with large wire size and heavy material. + Ability to assemble and layout parts per prints. + Experience in structural steel fabrication. **Why Work Here?** Join a smaller shop with about 100 employees, experiencing growth due to new projects. The facility is not temperature-controlled, requiring steel-toed boots and a welding helmet. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eureka, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
