Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you'll play a crucial role in positioning and securing workpieces using clamps, jigs, or fixtures before welding. You'll repair cracked or damaged parts, fill holes, and build up metal surfaces. This role involves laying out, fitting, and tack-welding components to assemble structures such as frames, tanks, and cabinets. Additionally, you'll clean and prep parts using brushes, grinders, or solvents, and weld in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, uphill, and overhead. With your expertise, you'll MIG-weld metal parts ranging from 16-gauge to 2.5 inches and read and follow blueprints, layouts, diagrams, and procedure sheets. Your skills will also be utilized in dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, presses, and hand tools.

Responsibilities

Position and secure workpieces using clamps, jigs, or fixtures before welding.Repair cracked or damaged parts and fill holes.Build up metal surfaces and assemble structures like frames, tanks, and cabinets.Clean and prep parts using brushes, grinders, or solvents.Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, uphill, and overhead positions.MIG-weld metal parts from 16-gauge to 2.5 inches.Read and follow blueprints, layouts, diagrams, and procedure sheets.Dismantle, straighten, reshape, and reassemble parts using cutting torches, presses, and hand tools.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.Fabrication, MIG welding, and fitting proficiency.Skill in using tape measures, blueprint reading, and mechanical assembly.

Bonus Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in MIG welding.Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.Proficiency in using hand and power tools for assembly tasks.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Work in a clean fabrication shop located in McHenry, IL. Standard hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Mchenry, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $54080.00/yr.
