Job Title: Welder and Fabricator
Job Description

As a Welder Fabricator, you will utilize welding techniques and tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal components, creating structures or products. Your role involves reading blueprints, selecting materials, and performing welding processes like MIG, TIG, and arc welding to ensure precision and durability. Additionally, you will handle tasks such as grinding, cleaning, and inspecting welds for quality assurance.

ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints and specifications, understanding the plans and requirements for the project.Select and prepare materials, choosing the appropriate metal and ensuring it's ready for welding.Cut and shape metal using tools like saws, shears, and grinders.Perform various welding processes, utilizing MIG, TIG, arc welding, and other techniques to join metal parts.Check weld quality and tolerances, inspecting welds to ensure they meet specifications and conducting tests for structural soundness.Use hand and power tools, employing a variety of tools to assist in the fabrication process.Maintain equipment and safety, ensuring the proper functioning and safety of welding equipment and work areas.Provide input on design and fabrication, offering suggestions on design and the fabrication process.Engage in machining and fabrication, operating machines to cut, grind, and shape metal components.Assist with fittings, setting, and installing fabricated structures.Troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during the fabrication process.Essential SkillsFabricationWeldingBlueprint readingMIG weldingTIG weldingSheet metal workProduction techniquesUse of hand toolsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in machining and fabricationAbility to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectivelyUnderstanding of design and fabrication processesWhy Work Here?

The position is based in a shop environment with office support, headquartered in San Jose. Here, materials are produced and prepared for national projects, offering a hands-on experience in a collaborative setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
