Experienced Welder – Valley, NE (2nd, 3rd, or Weekend Shift)

Available Shifts (No 1st Shift):

2nd Shift: Approximately 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday–Friday3rd Shift: Overnight, Monday–FridayWeekend Shift: Premium weekend schedule

Pay Range:

$26.00–$30.00+ per hour, depending on experience and position level+$2.00 per hour shift differential applied to 2nd and 3rd shiftsWeekend shift receives its own premium base ratePosition Overview

We are seeking skilled welders to join a high‑production structural fabrication team in Valley, Nebraska. This role involves welding large steel structures, including:

Steel electrical transmission polesSubstation componentsLarge steel shafts and assemblies — often heavy, long, and high‑diameterComponents requiring rotational welds, precision fit‑up, and strong penetration

This is hands‑on industrial welding work focused on strength, accuracy, and repeatability.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Flux Core) welding on large structural steel componentsComplete flat, horizontal, and rotational welds using established weld proceduresInterpret and weld from blueprints, flat sheets, and detailed work ordersUse jigs, fixtures, and preset tooling to ensure accurate fit‑upPerform cutting, prep, and cleanup using oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting equipmentSafely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move and position large assembliesEnsure weld quality meets required specifications, visually inspect welds, and correct defectsMaintain accurate production documentation, tags, and work recordsUphold strict safety standards and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized work areaQualifications

Required:

Minimum 2 years of professional welding experience in a fabrication or industrial environmentAbility to pass a hands‑on weld test and written assessmentAbility to maintain weld certifications that meet AWS and customer requirementsStrong blueprint reading skills and understanding of shop math (fractions, angles, measurements)Proficiency with tape measures and precision measuring toolsUnderstanding of weld quality standards, penetration requirements, and structural integrity

Preferred:

3+ years welding experienceExperience welding large poles, heavy steel shafts, or large‑diameter structural assembliesAbility to operate support equipment such as base presses, straighteners, rounders (training provided if qualified)Work EnvironmentFast‑paced production settingInvolves handling very large, heavy steel componentsRequires coordination with a team of welders, fitters, and material handlersEmphasis on safety, consistency, and meeting daily production goals

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00/hr.
