We are seeking a skilled welder with expertise in MIG, Flux Core, and STICK welding. The role involves welding on heavy gauge materials of 1 inch and up, setting up and operating welding machines, and performing simple fabrication tasks. You will utilize hand tools and measuring devices to complete welds within specific time frames. The position requires performing simple layouts, using torches, air arcs, hand grinding, fixture, and tooling aids to fix imperfections. You must be capable of working in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions, reading and interpreting weld symbols, and maintaining a clean work area. The ability to lift up to 60 lbs is essential.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a large production steel fabrication shop equipped with several CNC machines and weld booths, working primarily on large steel equipment. The facility, formerly the Whiting building in Harvey, can experience extreme temperatures, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots and appropriate weld gear. The company supplies products to major clients and has a strong project pipeline.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
