Position Overview

Wheeler Lumber is seeking a skilled Flux Core Welder to join our 2nd shift fabrication team. This role focuses on welding and assembling metal components according to plans, drawings, and production requirements. You’ll work in a fast‑paced, safety‑driven environment producing high‑quality welds for structural and custom‑fabricated products.

This position is ideal for welders who take pride in precision, enjoy hands‑on fabrication work, and want to grow within a well‑established company.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform flux core (FCAW) welding on structural and fabricated steel componentsRead and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawingsFit, position, and tack components prior to final weldOperate fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, clamps, and measuring equipmentInspect welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specificationsAssist with material handling, staging, and shop organizationFollow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop standardsCollaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goalsQualifications2+ years of Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience preferred + MIG WeldingAbility to pass a weld test (FCAW)Strong understanding of welding safety and shop practicesAbility to read blueprints and follow written specificationsComfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working on your feetReliable, punctual, and team‑orientedAdditional welding processes (MIG, Stick, etc.) are a plusWhy Join Our Team:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jordan, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
