Diesel Mechanic – Fleet Maintenance (2nd Shift)

Pay: $24–$35 per hour (based on experience and skill level)

Shift: Traditional 2nd Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team and support a fleet of large trucks. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient fleet operations. The ideal candidate is technically capable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently during a 2nd shift schedule.

Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel truck systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, exhaust, electrical, and HVACPerform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehiclesIdentify mechanical issues and determine repair solutions efficiently and accuratelyPerform repairs in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standardsDocument all maintenance and repair work completedCommunicate equipment status and repair needs clearly with supervisorsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentRespond to breakdowns or urgent repair needs as requiredQualifications2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred (fleet experience a plus)Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on large trucksAbility to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic toolsKnowledge of DOT inspection and compliance standardsValid driver’s license (CDL a plus, but not required)Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionReliable attendance and willingness to work a traditional 2nd shiftPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periodsComfortable working in a shop environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay: $24–$35/hour, based on experience and abilityOpportunities for overtimeStable, full-time employmentModern, well-equipped maintenance facilityOpportunities for growth and skill advancementJob Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
