Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling steel components used in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of welding techniques and structural steel standards.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project specifications.Weld structural steel components using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.Operate cutting, grinding, and welding equipment safely and efficiently.Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with industry standards.Perform layout, fitting, and fabrication of steel assemblies.Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to ensure quality and timely completion of projects.Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in using measuring tools and fitting for structural steel.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Strong skills in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.Experience in fabrication and welding of structural steel.

Work Environment

This position is based in one of the largest outdoor fabrication shops in Bakersfield, CA, where all steel structural products are created. The role involves mostly outdoor work in a dynamic environment, with adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
