As a welder, you will perform MIG and TIG welds on stainless steel, following detailed drawings and specifications. You will inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and company standards, set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, and collaborate with other welders to meet production deadlines. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with all plant safety rules is essential.
ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG and TIG welds in stainless steel according to drawings and specifications.Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality and company standards.Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.Read and interpret drawings and shop instructions via SOPs.Collaborate with other welders to meet production deadlines.Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to all plant safety rules.Essential SkillsProficiency in MIG and TIG welding.Ability to pass a two-inch schedule 80 pipe test in accordance with ASME Section IX for both MIG and TIG in all positions.Experience with fabrication, blueprint reading, and fitting.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Knowledge of shop safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Ability to perform shop math, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication with whole numbers and fractions.Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with flux core welding, pressure boundary, and sheet metal fabrication.Familiarity with grinding, assembly, and structure welding.Experience operating press brake equipment.Why Work Here?Join a company that values growth, with plans to expand from 380 to 425 employees by the end of next year. Work EnvironmentWork in a large manufacturing site split between two buildings, employing 380 people across multiple shifts. This industrial environment focuses on producing commercial HVAC cooling units. The night shift runs Monday to Thursday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, and the weekend night shift includes Friday to Sunday, 12-hour shifts, where employees work 36 hours but are paid for 40. The weekend shift is not yet operational but is expected to start soon, with plans to have 4-5 people on that shift.
