Job Description

We are currently seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Steel and Irrigation Operations division as welders. This role involves welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.

Responsibilities

Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures.Perform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence.Utilize all safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipment.Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings.Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner.Read and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms, and blueprints.Perform minor welding machine maintenance (e.g., tips, liners, gas cups).Use labor reporting system, routing shop forms, and fill out move tags.

Essential Skills

At least two months of welding experience within the last two years.Ability to read a measuring tape.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to communicate and interact positively with coworkers.Capability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.Ability to pass an onsite welding assessment.Willingness to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs.Ability to lift 50lbs consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized school.Six months of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints correctly without assistance.High awareness for safety at all times.Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.Passion and integrity with a drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.Technical welding degree from a trade school.Experience in pulse welding, Mig, and Flex core welding.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
