**Job Title: Welder** Job Description We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our final assembly department. You will be responsible for fabricating parts by welding machined and cut-to-size components. The role involves primarily horizontal TIG welding but requires the ability to weld in multiple positions. You will also oversee and support all TIG welding and the final assembly of products. Responsibilities + Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components, focusing on horizontal welds. + Work collaboratively with a team of 10 welders in the final assembly department. + Use hand tools such as angle grinders and sanders to finish rough edges on newly stamped or formed stainless steel or aluminum. + Operate equipment like a tube bender, drill press, and saw to create necessary parts. + Read and interpret blueprints specific to each job for short-run production or single jobs. + Perform MIG welding when required, comprising 5% of the role. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3 years of TIG welding experience on stainless steel, particularly on thin gauges like 14-gauge. + Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, including symbols and tolerances. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in fabrication and assembly is preferred. + Proficiency with machine shop tools such as a lathe, Bridgeport, saw, and grinders. + Experience in pipefitting and MIG welding is advantageous. + Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly and efficiently. Work Environment Join a leading manufacturer of pathology, histology, necropsy, and morgue equipment. The work environment is clean and organized, with a total of 84 employees, including 10 welders. The facility comprises various departments such as Engineering, Machining, Welding, Metal Finishing, and Shipping/Receiving. The dress code includes working attire, welding helmet, welding gloves, and steel toe boots. Work hours are from 4:30 PM to 3 AM, Monday to Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
