Job Title: Welder

Job Description

As a welder, you will work in a designated welding station, reading and interpreting welding diagrams to fit and weld structural steel sheets and tubes. You will be responsible for performing MIG (GMAW) welding up to several feet in one weld with widths over 10mm. Your tasks will also include grinding down welds, operating different machines to form metal, inspecting welds, and ensuring that finished products meet weld diagram specifications. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret welding diagrams accurately.Fit and weld structural steel sheets and tubes using MIG welding techniques.Perform MIG welding up to several feet in one weld with widths exceeding 10mm.Grind down welds and operate various machines to form metal.Inspect welds to ensure they meet specifications from weld diagrams.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of MIG Welding experience in both vertical and horizontal positions.Ability to read and interpret welding diagrams.Proficiency in taking accurate measurements and converting units.Comfortable working in confined spaces, such as 4-5ft diameter cylinders.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with fitting and machine operating.Skills in TIG welding and tack welding.Ability to grind machine parts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working in a very large, well-organized, and maintained welding shop. Although it can get hot inside during warmer months, there are plenty of fans and large bay doors for air circulation. The work culture is supportive, with approachable colleagues who are willing to lend a hand. The shifts available are: Day shift from 6:00am – 2:00pm, Monday to Friday, and Afternoon shift from 2:00pm – 10:00pm, Monday to Friday. All overtime is optional, with time-and-a-half pay after 40 hours and double-time pay on Sundays.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
