**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** This position involves performing MIG welding duties on pipe, primarily ranging from 14" to 36" with thin wall pipe up to 1/2" thick. The role requires executing turn welds and elbow welds, with minimal flat welding, focusing mostly on lateral and vertical welds. Applicants should be open to learning MIG welding on pipe, which is notably different from MIG welding on other materials. **Responsibilities** + Perform MIG welding duties on pipe. + Grind down welds on piping. + Carry out general laborer duties including heavy lifting of materials/equipment up to 50 pounds. + Operate machinery such as drill press, shears, and manual lines. **Essential Skills** + 6 months of schooling or on-the-job welding experience. + Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols. + Proficiency in reading a tape measure accurately. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in MIG welding, especially on pipe. + Grinding experience. + AWS Certifications preferred. + A degree from a technical college in welding is advantageous. **Work Environment** The position is set in a very industrial shop environment. The team is a tight-knit group of employees fostering a collaborative atmosphere. The role primarily involves first shift working hours from 6AM to 6PM, and Saturdays as needed. Candidates must bring their own welding gear. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, Pennsylvania. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
