As a Welder/Fitter, you will play a critical role in supporting the production team to achieve excellence in manufacturing, quality, and production operations. The safety of associates is our highest priority, and you'll be involved in various tasks to ensure successful operations.

ResponsibilitiesLay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.Determine required equipment, welding method, and welding techniques.Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.Ignite torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies.Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.Remove rough spots from work pieces using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using precision measuring tools such as micrometer and caliper.Essential SkillsMig weldingTig weldingFlux core weldingStructural weldingBlueprint readingAbility to perform welds in multiple stylesExperience with large structure weldingD1.1, D1.5, or D1.6 Structural Welding CertificationComplete Joint Penetration WeldAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in aluminum and mild steel weldingHand grinding skillsFabrication skillsManual press operation is a plusProficiency with tape measure and precision measuring toolsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic Weld Shop/Job Shop environment, handling large parts, sometimes requiring you to get in or on them. This role spans multiple industries, including infrastructure and F&B. Be prepared for varying temperatures, as it can be cold in the winter and warm in the summer.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
