General NotesThis position is located at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus located in North Austin.
PurposeDeliver a cohesive and user-centered web experience by maintaining current and accessible web content, collaborating on frontend design and usability, and supporting backend development to ensure stable and efficient site functionality.
ResponsibilitiesMaintains and updates web content within the content management system by creating, editing, organizing, and publishing content in accordance with established standards, workflows, accessibility guidelines, and organizational policies.
Supports the design and implementation of user-facing web interfaces by applying frontend technologies, ensuring responsive layouts, usability, accessibility, and visual consistency across web platforms.
Develops, configures, and maintains Drupal-based websites by implementing modules, themes, and configuration changes to support content delivery, system functionality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree and three years of professional web content management experience
Experience creating and updating content using a content management system (CMS)
Ability to edit and format web content, including text, images, links, and basic page layouts
Understanding of content accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
Familiarity with basic web accessibility and usability principles
Ability to follow established style guides, templates, and publishing workflows
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for styling and structuring web pages
Familiarity with responsive design concepts and mobile-friendly layouts
Ability to implement design changes based on mockups or style guidelines
Experience using browser developer tools to inspect and troubleshoot frontend issues
Willingness to learn and collaborate with designers and developers on frontend improvements
Basic understanding of how CMS workflows are implemented through configuration and code
Ability to assist with developing or modifying simple CMS tools, scripts, or configuration under guidance
Familiarity with how content types, fields, permissions, and workflows interact within a CMS
Ability to read existing code or configuration to understand how CMS processes are implemented
Willingness to learn debugging, testing, and documentation practices related to CMS process development
Ability to balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through with projects and assignments to completion
Excellent listening skills and a "customer service" attitude
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsMore than the required years of professional web content management and development experience
Experience managing complex content structures, taxonomies, and reusable components within a CMS
Ability to audit, optimize, and reorganize existing content for usability, accessibility, and consistency
Familiarity with content governance, versioning, and rollback processes
Experience applying SEO best practices and using analytics to inform content improvements
Ability to train or support other content editors on CMS usage and standards
Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for enhancing user interfaces
Experience implementing responsive layouts and design systems across multiple templates
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve cross-browser and cross-device frontend issues
Familiarity with frontend build tools or component-based workflows
Experience collaborating closely with designers to translate mockups into production-ready interfaces
Experience developing or extending custom Drupal modules and themes
Strong understanding of Drupal’s entity system, configuration management, and caching
Ability to work with Drupal hooks, services, and dependency injection
Experience troubleshooting performance, permissions, and access control issues
Familiarity with Drupal best practices for maintainability, security, and upgrades
Salary Range$62,500 + depending on qualifications
