Role Definition 
The Connectivity & Service Solutions Division is seeking a web architect to lead the technical implementation of the Remote Service solution (Over-the-Air / OTA), specifically, a micro frontend interface to Remote Troubleshoot features such as Remote Service Tests.
 

Caterpillar and Cat® dealers provide customers with excellent technology offerings and premium service. Depending on the product configuration and service choices, Remote Service empowers them with a suite of capabilities including remote software updates, remote diagnostics, and remote service tests


Responsibilities 

Continuous software architecture improvementCollaborating with Software Developers on source code reviewsEnsure software follows defined technical directionEnsure right technical solution to solve the problemCommitment to solving a complex problem by clearly defining logical work blocks, sets realistic objectives and vision for the team to achieveLead the technical development efforts for systems and subsystemsProvide direction to a group of technical people for design, analysis and developmentTechnical coaching and training of new delivery team membersUnderstands the application and the platform componentsDefines an architecture that leverages the platformCreates requirements for both platform development and application specific softwareParticipate in release content discussion – estimates

Skill Descriptors 

Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Top Candidates Will Have:

Requires a degree in an accredited Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.Typically have 8+ years of experience in embedded software developmentExtensive Experience with Frontend software developmentExperience using modern web technologies for custom software development of front-end user interface to operator stations: on-board or off-board.Experience including HTML5, CSS3, Angular, JavaScript, JQuery and other related technologies.Experience with product development in an Agile environment

Additional Details:

This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
