The Private Foundations Services Team (PFS) at J.P. Morgan Private Bank collaborates with foundation principals and decision-makers as trustee, co-trustee, or agent. Our mission is to preserve the foundation’s favorable tax status by expertly navigating complex regulations, while managing the administrative and operational responsibilities of foundation management. Our team consists of seasoned professionals with decades of experience in nonprofit management and grantmaking, overseeing over 10,000 grant requests annually. As part of the Private Bank, we offer clients a vast professional and in-house network, empowering them to make impactful contributions to their communities and the world.

PFS facilitates nearly $400 million in annual giving for client foundations, partnering with a diverse range of grantees—from grassroots organizations to major institutions—across various program areas. Our team, including Program Officers and Grants Managers, provides guidance and support to clients and internal partners in grant making and family philanthropy. We offer grant making services, assist in developing funding strategies, and help family members and decision-makers define and execute philanthropic legacies.

Responsibilities:

Manage the grants administration process for multiple philanthropic portfolios, ensuring alignment with established goals and objectives. Innovate and implement new methods to enhance the performance of grants administration functions. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the grants database. Generate grants-related correspondence, including award, installment, grant agreement, and declination letters. Process grant payments and ensure efficient tracking of payments. Respond to general program inquiries via phone/email. Collaborate with internal partners across U.S. markets to optimize grant making strategies, manage risks, and prepare/present grant recommendations for approval. Support PFS Program Officers, Grants Managers, and other Bank members on client-related special projects and philanthropic advisory services. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Experience:

Undergraduate degree required. Preferred experience in fiduciary and investment operations, accounting, paralegal work, grant administration, or nonprofit organization employment.
