We are currently hiring a Full Time Driver for Day Shift to join our team! 

 

Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for driving facility vans to provide safe, non-emergent door to door transportation to the disabled and elderly.  Patients may be using wheelchairs or stretchers.

Provide door to door transportation to ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher patients.Secure wheelchair and resident by using the appropriate installed safety devices.Drive the van to pre-determined locations as directed by the dispatcher.Communicate location to the Dispatcher throughout the day.Complete required reports on vehicle mileage and trips completed.Maintain van in efficient operating condition. Report any mechanical problems to supervisor.Purchase fuel and maintain fluid levels.Clean inside and outside of van regularly to ensure cleanliness.Operate two-way radio between facility and vehicle.Attend and participate in Department meetings.Maintain CDL/19-A certification.Follow all laws and regulations pertinent to the position; report any violations immediately to the Transportation Director.Must be a licensed NY State driver with a Class C license with a P endorsement and no violations.Must deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and other personnel.Must be flexible and can adapt to changing schedules, appointments, and other tasks.Be able to make independent decisions when situations warrant action.Responsible for employee injury prevention, follows safety rules, and addresses safety issues with supervisor.Assist with daily duties as well as obtain Medicaid and other authorizations prior to transport using e-mail, fax, or phone.Maintain and assign daily schedules to driversAnswer phone and record appointments.Maneuver the PCC Program and enter charges.All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications: 

This position a valid CDL license with a P endorsement which is valid for the operation of the bus in this state. The individual must have passed a valid bus driver physical examination administered pursuant to regulations established by the commissioner.
