Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Waterjet Operator who will apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to work order specifications. The role requires maintaining processing equipment in a safe and clean condition and ensuring the processing area remains orderly. Complete all required data entry tasks accurately and perform any other assigned tasks.
ResponsibilitiesOperate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.Pull, inspect, and verify the product before processing.Set up equipment properly and safely to run material to set up note specifications.Process set up notes according to work order specifications.Verify that the product meets setup note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements.Communicate with the appropriate sales representative regarding changes or clarification to orders.Perform equipment preventive maintenance.Enter and delete material identification tags per written instructions.Assist in packaging material per written work instructions and work order.Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.Operate weighing scale properly and record inspection measurements.Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming material.Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.Train others when required.Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.Essential SkillsCertification in material handler position.Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.Ability to perform basic math skills.High school diploma or GED.2+ years minimum of Waterjet operation experience working around metals.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.Previous forklift experience.Experience using handheld measuring tools.Computer literacy.2+ years of saw operation experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.Ability to read a ruler and interpret blueprints.Experience with inventory control on each work order.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is primarily a warehouse and production setting, involving the use of machines such as Waterjets, Bandsaws, and CNC machines. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr.
