Our client, a leader in environmental conservation, is seeking a Waterfowl Recovery Technician (Ducker) to join their team. As a Waterfowl Recovery Technician, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting wildlife rehabilitation efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Waterfowl Recovery Technician (Ducker)
**Location:** Green River, WY
**Pay Range:** $18
**Shift:** 5 Days per week, 8.0 Hours per shift
**What's the Job?**
+ Safely recover, rehabilitate, and release migratory waterfowl from the soda ash manufacturing tailings pond.
+ Physically capture live waterfowl using boats, netting, and cages, while being on your feet for long periods and walking long distances in various weather conditions.
+ Handle and wash live waterfowl to prepare them for release back into their natural habitat.
+ Maintain a detailed logbook documenting species encountered, identification of species and gender, and cause of mortality.
+ Participate in auxiliary tasks such as monitoring well elevation and providing office support as needed.
**What's Needed?**
+ No prior experience required; a passion for wildlife and the environment is essential.
+ Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
+ Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
+ Commitment to safety practices and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
+ Willingness to take action on unsafe conditions and participate in safety initiatives.
