We are seeking a qualified individual to lead and manage hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design. The position is part of our Civil Engineering Design Department in NC. Projects will primarily involve hydraulic engineering for roadway\/highway, municipal street, and pedestrian (greenways, multi-use trails) projects.\n
Responsibilities:\n\nMarket hydraulic department's services to new and existing clients\nManage hydraulic workload, staff, and schedules\nLead hydraulic design of stream crossings, drainage systems and erosion control for a wide range of transportation-related projects\nManage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in HEC-RAS for bridges and culverts\nManage preparation of MOA, CLOMR and LOMR packages\nManage hydraulic analyses and oversee report generation\nOversee project\/contracting scoping, fee development, contract negotiations, and execution\nAttend public meetings and presentations as needed\nTrain support staff and review work\nAssist with project pursuits in providing technical expertise on proposals and marketing meetings\n\n
Skills and Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with a minimum of 10 years of progressive hydraulic design experience\nPE license in NC or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment.\nAdvanced knowledge of and experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with step backwater programs (HEC-RAS) and knowledge of FEMA requirements.\nExperience in drainage design, stormwater management practices and regulations, and erosion control designs\nKnowledge of NCDOT design standards and practices and experience in project development workflow\nProactive and self-motivated attitude\nExperience with managing and organizing multiple tasks and related disciplines.\nStrong engineering analysis and judgment\nExcellent communication skills (written and verbal).\nExperience in staff and project management\nExperience managing and training support staff\nAbility to work collaboratively\n\n
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:\n\nExperience with Microstation, Geopak, Geopak Drainage, and Open Roads Designer\nSCM design experience\nStream restoration experience\nCFM Certification\nFloodplain mapping experience\nNCDOT, SCDOT and VDOT design experience\n\n
