Job Title: Wastewater Operator
Job Description

The Water Treatment Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various processing equipment, including water treatment systems. Responsibilities include maintaining solution balance, collecting samples, recording data, and handling potentially hazardous chemicals. The operator will monitor and control water and slurry flows, reagent additions, and operate pumps, valves, piping, and related equipment. Regular inspections and adjustments are required to maintain operating parameters within specified limits, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain water and wastewater treatment equipment according to state and federal environmental protection limits and company policies.Prepare and submit reports including meter readings, tests, chemical usage, and related records, adhering to regulations and contractual obligations.Safely handle chemicals such as lime, chloride, caustic, and mercury following safety standards and training.Clean and maintain treatment plant facilities, ensuring housekeeping standards are met.Perform mechanical tasks within the scope of training and expertise.Operate small frontend loaders, forklifts, skid steer loaders, and dozers as needed for job assignments.Complete pre-shift inspections and equipment checks, ensuring safety and functionality.Report and address safety or environmental concerns immediately in line with project guidelines and regulations.Work with minimal on-site supervision while maintaining regular check-ins with the Operations Representative or project supervisor.Plan and execute assignments for significant or complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contracts.Essential SkillsExperience with wastewater and water treatment systems.Prior experience working with reverse osmosis systems.Knowledge of wastewater treatment, preferably from a municipality.Ability to perform general labor tasks, such as shoveling and lifting up to 50 lbs.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Basic computer and technology skills for data recording and communication.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with microfiltration and clarification systems preferred.Ability to navigate rough terrain and work at heights.Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.Experience operating small front-end loaders, dozers, and lifting equipment preferred.General understanding of mining operations preferred.Ability to travel frequently, including flying, as required for project duties.Why Work Here?

This is a Contract position based out of Kershaw, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
