Our Global Logistics and Distribution business unit provides comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions utilizing a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology and supply chain expertise to manage the flow of goods from receiving to storage and order processing to shipment.

Job Summary

The Warehousing Supervisor manages the staff and daily activities within a UPS Healthcare operation. The role involves coordinating with clients, and ensuring that all operational and quality standards are met in a fast-paced environment; Operates a warehouse with inbound and outbound freight shipments that are processed within a short timeframe; Supports business products by collaborating with vendors, customers, and other internal support groups for the movement of international and domestic air and ocean shipments; Monitors and manages facility performance to ensure materials are processed in a timely manner and meet customers’ requirements; Responsible for daily facility activities related to loading and unloading containers, pulling orders, freight sorting, customer support, facility inspections, handling employee concerns, etc.

Responsible for overseeing, evaluating, and correcting the performance and outcomes of a team or multiple teams. Coordinates work across the organization to optimize efficiency. Makes key workforce decisions, such as hiring, onboarding, transferring, laying off, disciplining, assigning, directing, instructing, developing, and rewarding employees. Emphasis on aligning processes and fostering cohesion among team members.

Supervises a team(s) that performs work according to standardized processes or procedures (e.g., entry-level Professional Expertise, Administrative or Technical Support). Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Problem solving is guided by policies, procedures and the local business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager. Typically, does not perform the work supervised. Use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is not critical to start, but the supervisor is expected to learn and utilize these tools as needed.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Supervising daily activities and providing direction to operational staff.

Collaborating with the customer to address and resolve service and quality-related issues.

Coordinating with staffing agencies to manage temporary employee assignments.

Managing and reviewing employee timecards daily.

Ensuring adherence to Healthcare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and HR Policies.

Utilizing Helix to support operational processes.

Running and scheduling reports using BOBJ (BusinessObjects).

Communicating effectively using Outlook is required.

Qualifications:

Experience working in a warehouse environment; healthcare logistics experience is preferred.

Prior experience in people management or supervisory roles.

Working knowledge of Helix.

Working knowledge of Healthcare SOPs and client-specific Work Instructions (WIs).

Additional Criteria for Internal Candidates:

Job Grade: 20D

This is not a remote position. Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to self-relocate – Required.  

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7 am to 4 pm
