The primary role of a Warehouse Supervisor is to lead and manage warehouse employees to achieve departmental goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness.
ResponsibilitiesCounsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns.Address performance behaviors by recognizing positive contributions and correcting negative ones.Utilize the Quality Network problem-solving process to address opportunities and engage the workforce for ideas.Apply the Workplace Organization process to enhance layouts and efficiency.Perform daily updates in the Timekeeping System to ensure accurate payroll data processing.Document problem-solving activities using the A-3 reporting format and adhere to local A-3 guidelines.Conduct daily meetings to communicate business performance and facilitate two-way discussions with employees.Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of departments.Plan daily workloads in advance and support colleagues to optimize shift performance.Ensure compliance with contractual requirements (National and Local) and enforce shop rules.Perform daily Standard Operating Procedure audit checks.Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan process.Keep the General Supervisor Shop Committee informed of all pending activities.Essential SkillsSupervisory and management skills with experience in directly supervising employees.Ability to lead and motivate others, with experience in progressive discipline (verbal counseling, write-ups, termination).Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory, and shipping and receiving processes.Understanding of automotive and automotive manufacturing processes.Proficiency in using Kronos for timekeeping.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of employees.Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.Problem-solving skills to maintain performance when faced with challenges.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.Basic math skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.Understanding of scheduling and management systems.High analytical ability for complex problem-solving.Knowledge of quality control procedures.High school diploma with at least 1-2 years of technical or business school training.Training in a skilled trades area or equivalent technical training.Why Work Here?This position provides an excellent opportunity to start a career within a reputable Customer Care and Aftersales organization. Work EnvironmentThe role operates within a 2-shift system, with the current opening for the 2nd shift (2:30pm - 11pm). The 1st shift runs from 6am - 2:30pm. Flexibility to work either shift and approximately 10 hours of overtime per week is required. Schedules may include weekends, and working 7+ days consecutively may be necessary. The dress code is business casual, with no open-toed shoes or heels allowed. The facility processes automotive parts for distribution, involving staging, packing, and shipping operations. Each day begins with a management team huddle to discuss SPQRC (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost), followed by workforce allocation and timecard management using Kronos.
