Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and delivery support within a fast-paced electrical distribution environment. This role drives operational excellence, inventory accuracy, team leadership, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a culture centered on service, integrity, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations
+ Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
+ Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders, transfers, and will-call pickups.
+ Maintain high standards for organization, cleanliness, and safety throughout the facility.
+ Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and minimize errors.
Inventory Management
+ Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper receiving procedures.
+ Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and return-to-vendor issues.
+ Coordinate with purchasing and sales teams to manage stock levels and optimize inventory turns.
+ Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory.
Team Leadership & Development
+ Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse associates and drivers.
+ Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable.
+ Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
+ Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development.
Safety & Compliance
+ Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
+ Lead safety meetings and ensure proper use of equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
+ Maintain compliance with DOT regulations where applicable.
+ Ensure proper handling and storage of electrical materials and hazardous items.
Customer & Sales Support
+ Collaborate with inside and outside sales teams to meet customer delivery expectations.
+ Ensure timely and accurate job staging for contractor pickups and deliveries.
+ Support customer service initiatives that enhance the branch’s reputation for reliability.
+ Process Improvement
+ Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements.
+ Monitor warehouse KPIs (order accuracy, fill rate, on-time shipments, productivity).
+ Support branch leadership in cost control initiatives related to freight, labor, and inventory shrink.
Reports to: Profit Center Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong understanding of inventory control processes and warehouse best practices.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• High level of comfort with technology and the ability to quickly adapt to and master internal software and point-of-sale systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ College Degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
+ Two or more years’ experience leading a team
+ Electrical Distribution or similar Wholesale Distribution experience
+ Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring employees
Working Conditions:
+ Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with regular exposure to varying temperatures due to limited or no climate control. The facility may experience hot conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter.
+ Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions while overseeing loading/unloading operations, deliveries, and yard activities.
+ Regular operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling machinery.
+ Moderate to high noise levels consistent with an active warehouse setting.
+ Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Essential Job Functions:
+ Represent CED in a professional and appropriate manner
+ Oversee and contribute to all warehouse functions and dispatch delivery drivers
+ Ensure the smooth and accurate flow of material as it arrives at, and is assembled to leave, our facility
+ Communicate and help reconcile stock accuracy variances
+ Supervise all warehouse activities to ensure they are carried out safely
+ Lead employees to succeed in daily tasks and maximizing long-term career goals
+ Periodic evaluation of current processes and determine areas for improvement
+ Accurately process and secure related documentation
+ Champion team objectives and priorities as determined by the Profit Center Manager
