As Warehouse Leader, you will be responsible for creating a “one team” culture while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Warehouse Leader will be responsible for standard work utilizing continuous improvement to identify and implement efficiencies. Lead and performs various tasks related to accurate receipt, staging, storage, transfer, and delivery of HVAC equipment.

On-Site (5 days)  

What you will do:    

Establish and maintain a One-Team culture

Utilize operational excellence including problem solving techniques and MDI to increase efficiencies

P&L responsibilities (Overtime management, supplies, maintenance, and any warehouse costs)

Field warehouse operations including but not limited to successful implications of performance scorecard metrics. Deliver business results through maintaining key daily metrics Interface directly with customers (internal and external), suppliers, National Distribution Center, Transportation, Customer Service, District General Managers and Store Leaders to assure goal alignment and performance metrics.

Primary contact for warehousing, customer service, and local transportation issues

Using material handling equipment, inbound and outbound shipments, loads and unloads trucks, locates and picks material into/out of warehouse racks and between locations, Log inbound freight(UPS, Federal Express, Airborne, DHL)

Work with local and regional freight companies (setup times, hot shots, etc.)

Stocking and arranging of product to ensure warehouse turns of inventory

Determines accurate material quantities by cycle counting and ensures inventory accuracy

Receives material into inventory, move material by quantity between designated locations, and locate/pick material to/from warehouse locations as required. Ensures accurate part number, quantity, and other data field entries that impact electronic records of receipts, inventories, location. Resolves discrepancies with material quantities, and part numbers.

Locates parts insuring that pallets are stable, observing pallet heights, material, racking and equipment are not damaged, and material is not left in aisles.

Satisfies demands of internal customers to include the timely delivery or removal of designated materials to or from the supported shop. Delivers high priority materials ahead of routine materials previously requested

Practices safe material handling techniques

Completes training as required, including safety training, certification and testing

Reinforces culture of safety by utilizing all appropriate resources to safely perform all functions of the job

Safely operates assigned material handling equipment. Ensures that all equipment in use has been inspected and is in safe operating condition. Reports all accidents and unsafe conditions to supervisor

Facilitate warehouse safety processes including facility safety audits, incident investigation, and integrating safe work practices throughout daily warehouse operations Residential HVAC and Supply Position Description

Ensures all maintenance and upkeep for forklifts and other warehouse equipment

Oversee cleanliness of warehouses and performs housekeeping as assigned

May be required to purchase warehouse supplies to maintain building

Assist in annual warehouse inventory

 

Leadership and Winning Culture

Effectively assesses, selects, on-boards, develops and coaches strong, diverse team of different backgrounds and experiences to achieve performance goals and business results.

Establishes work objectives and plans and manage distribution of work among associates.

Utilizes HR team and IR Talent Management System and processes to effectively work with associates to establish goals, manage overall performance management, and ongoing development.

Works with Retail Operations Leader regarding performance reviews, performance issues, recommended promotions and salary/wage increase.

Builds a sales culture, reinforcing parts and solutions sales through coaching and training. Leverage sales reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.

Establishes leadership cadence for team including communication and community events to help build engaged team.

Role-models engaging customer-facing behaviors and customer service.

Leads recognition, informal and formal for the store including ongoing individual recognition and recognizing successes.

Participates in different team and community involvement activities.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises warehouse and delivery personnel in store. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

What you will bring:  

Associate’s (AA) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years supervisory experience with two or more employees.

Experience working in a process management system and priority setting.

Must be results driven, a strong team player and be able to maintain a high energy level even with challenging situations or customers.

Forklift experience required.

Key Competencies:

Proficiency in material handling for a distribution or manufacturing environment.

MDI and Problem Solving experience

Strong customer service skills.

Must have a strong instinct to act, a strong team player and be able to maintain a high energy level even with challenging situations or internal/external customers.

Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

Possess basic math skills. Ability to perform these basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to take care of problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proven ability to follow through on commitments and responsibilities.

A strong knowledge and comfort level with computers is necessary. Programs used include Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly required to stand 8-12 hours, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and effectively communicate with others - talk and hear. You will frequently be required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or craw. You will occasionally be required to sit. This position regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Any lifting above 50 pounds should be done mechanically.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment

This position works in a typical warehouse environment. You occasionally will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and fumes from forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation:    

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000/yr based on experience and will include a quarterly incentive plan of 5% 

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.   

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
