**Job Title: Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Specialist** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated first shift shipping and receiving specialist who excels with computers. In this role, you will be responsible for physically receiving items into the warehouse, entering received materials into the accounting system, scanning receiving documentation into project files, and monitoring the list of open purchase orders to confirm their status. You will also support the purchasing manager by assisting with purchase order entry and material ordering, while communicating shipping and receiving statuses with the project manager and sales team. Precision is key, as you will handle shipping materials to customers and vendors, along with entering shipment information. **Responsibilities** + Physically receive items into the warehouse and enter received materials into the accounting system. + Scan receiving documentation into project files. + Monitor list of open purchase orders and confirm their status. + Support the purchasing manager with purchase order entry and material ordering. + Communicate shipping and receiving statuses with the project manager and sales. + Ensure precision in shipping materials to customers and vendors, and entering shipment information. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of previous warehouse experience. + 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience. + Computer literacy. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience as a warehouse, yard, or shop helper is beneficial. **Why Work Here?** Be part of a team-oriented environment where everyone helps each other, with opportunities for growth. This role offers potential development into an entry-level mechanic position. **Work Environment** The work environment is non-climate controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will be required to work both inside the office and outside in the yard/warehouse, regardless of weather conditions. The position operates on a first shift from 8am to 5pm, with flexibility required for starting an hour earlier or staying an hour later as needed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
