**Job Overview**
The VP Med Practice - Women and Children SL provides employment home-related leadership for the employed medical directors in an assigned practice for the Fairview Health Medical Group. In partnership with Fairview medical group leadership and leadership from the relevant M Health Fairview service lines and/or domains, develops and executes short, medium and long-range strategic plans within the medical group that align with M Health Fairview strategic goals and objectives and that ensure the medical group is continuously positioned to support these goals and objectives.
This leadership role will be 1.0 FTE (.5 Leadership/.5 Clinical). The Clinical component could be as an MD/DO or APP within a Women and Children’s specialty.
**Responsibilities**
+ Serves as the primary link between the SVP of Specialties, the Fairview employment home, and medical directors, and is actively engaged and visibly present across the medical group.
+ Collaborates with other areas within the system to provide input into strategy and operational plans from an employment home perspective. Partners with other specialties, domains, and service lines to enhance coordination between programs and improve the effectiveness of the entire network.
+ Works to enhance group practice effectiveness and achieve operational and clinical goals, and cost of care, for the medical group.
+ Enhances the ability of assigned practice to deliver care consistent with the population needs of the communities served and consistent with care standards established for the respective service line and/or domain.
+ Leads or participates in key meetings and/or committee work.
+ Supports medical directors in responding to escalated provider/staff conflict, performance concerns, and patient complaints.
+ Provides leadership to medical directors including professional and personal development, interventions and coaching, giving and inviting feedback, modeling and developing values-based behaviors.
+ Ensures that business objectives, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood.
+ Serves as primary source of connection and engagement between the SVP Specialties and medical directors
+ Actively executes initiatives to optimally align medical directors with clinical, operational and financial performance of the medical group.
+ Has accountability for success of assigned provider practice in the medical group in the following areas: Operational performance, Strategy execution, Clinical performance, Patient experience, Employee engagement, Efficiency, Research and education.
+ Assists in the identification of areas of potential improvement and sponsors or participates in efforts to optimize those opportunities. Works with management/staff from other areas within M Health Fairview to enhance performance for areas of responsibility and M Health Fairview overall.
+ Directly supervises medical leader performance within assigned practice area.
+ Supports medical directors in managing medical staff development plans and provider recruitment in collaboration with service lines and/or domain needs.
+ Ensures competency of medical directors and other leaders and supports peer review processes.
+ Works with matrix leaders and medical directors to ensure scope of practice and performance expectations are clearly defined for each provider within assigned practices.
+ Supports medical directors in assuring provider adherence to service line and/or domain clinical policies and protocols, actively promoting the provision of quality healthcare and excellent patient satisfaction.
+ Gives input to administrative management staff in the development, maintenance, and implementation and execution of effective financial, strategic and tactical plans for areas of responsibility.
+ Assures adequate staffing levels for service line or domain requirements
+ Ensures medical group support of system clinical quality improvement initiatives.
+ Supports financial performance for assigned practices.
+ Supports implementation, use and performance of electronic health record and other information technology tools within the practice.
+ Supports accurate documentation, coding and compliance within the practice.
+ Supports risk management issues within the practice
**Required Qualifications**
+ Graduate of an Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School or foreign equivalent Doctorate and Graduate of an accredited ACGME or AOA residency for specialty area of practice or
+ Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Certified Nurse Midwifery (CNM) program
+ (MD/DO) - Board Certified with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association.
+ (MD/DO) - Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
+ (APP) - Licensed or ability to obtain MN Board of Nursing Licensure and/or appropriate licensure for an Advanced Practice Provider
+ (MD/DO/APP) - Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
+ (MD/DO/APP) - Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
+ 5 yrs experience in clinical or hospital practice
+ 5 yrs leadership experience
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Doctorate as NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician Assistant), or CNM (Certified Nurse-Midwife)
+ M.A./M.S. as NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician Assistant), or CNM (Certified Nurse-Midwife)
+ Active in medical and patient communities
+ Previous healthcare administrative/operational experience with progressive leadership responsibility
+ Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
+ Collaborative work style
+ Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, listening and presentation skills
+ Independent decision making
+ Ability to multitask and be flexible
+ Strong financial statement / budgeting experience

**Compensation Disclaimer**
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
