Job Description:
We're looking for a VP level candidate to join our Environment Products Trading team in the US. This position requires assisting with all activities related to operating and growing a diversified environmental commodities trading business. This includes daily position management, P&L reporting, client market making, operational transfers, transaction booking and execution trading. The candidate will be expected to either have or develop new relationships with sales and trading clients and market makers throughout the environmental products landscape. The role requires working on a trading floor in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with internal stakeholders and driving new business expansion forward. The team is responsible for timely and accurate submission of data to the respective systems and market operators.
The successful candidate will develop expertise in supply and demand fundamentals as well as a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in the markets that we participate. As well, they will learn how to manage balance sheet optimization across a dynamic internal and external rate environment. They must also ensure counterparty positions reflect internal trading positions and remedy any discrepancies, working closely with our operations and risk teams.
We are looking for a proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities. Liaising with Legal, Compliance, Credit, Technology, Tax, Regulatory Reporting and relevant external bodies will be required to help expand the business into new markets.
The VP Sales and Trading TDS develops an institutional investor base in the U.S. to fund the Bank and to place U.S. and Canadian money market positions. The position liaises closely with the Bank's other operations in Canada, Europe, and the U.S. to assist in meeting the Bank's objectives.
Depth & Scope:

Develops an institutional investor base in the U.S. to fund the Bank and to place U.S. and Canadian money market positions
Strict adherence personally and at a desk level to the firm's procedures
Understands and complies with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements
Ensures that transactions are fully documented and processed accurately and in a timely manner
Communicates bank policy information and strategy between the product head and relevant trading personnel
Fully informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards at all times to assist in maximizing profitability through sound trading decisions
Develops and maintains contacts
Responsible for executing the ongoing trading exception report reviews for Money Markets Sales NY
Understands the approved Business Strategies (Strategic Business Reviews SBRs), applicable to the business, and ensures that all of your business dealings are in alignment with these strategies
Follows Credit Risk Policies and procedures, as they apply to the business and is responsible for being aware of and understanding such policies and procedures and ensuring that applicable sales and trading activity is in line with those policies
Demonstrates governance, control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices
Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.

5-7 Years of related experience
Must be detail oriented and possess problem-solving skills
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and establish priorities
Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written), and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management

Strong team player; ability to act as a strong partner and collaborator with the broader energy commodities team, sharing market information and solving complex problems

Proactive, self-starting individual with high levels of ownership. Highly motivated and ability to coach others in technical areas and problem solving. Demonstrate strong business analytical skills, problem solving abilities, initiative, and creativity
Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal and external clients with differing levels of product experience.
Ability to operate under pressure addressing time sensitive accountabilities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to operate independently with sound judgement without supervision required
Strong proficiency in use of MS Excel, Bloomberg as well as other MS Office products
Basic proficiency in VBA and/or Python will be considered a plus
Prior experience working as part of a commodities trading team is a strong plus
