BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The primary role of the Voluntary Benefits Analyst Intern is to support the Client Service, Sales, and Underwriting teams by providing analysis of products and carriers to support the overall business objectives. This internship opportunity will provide exposure to clients’ benefit plan designs, account planning meetings, and strategic support within the client partnership. Correspond with insurance carriers to obtain plan details to help streamline the product comparison. Quality review employee-facing communications, product comparisons, and presentations used to deliver our findings to clients.
The primary focus of this internship will surround voluntary benefit programs including, but not limited to: Accident, Critical Illness/Cancer, Hospital indemnity, Hybrid Life with Long-Term Care, Identity Theft, Legal, Pet, Genomics, Auto/Home, and Discounts/Perks.

(Integrity and Accountability)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist with the evaluation, determination and recommendation of alternative coverage, pricing options, and plan design changes;Analyze existing benefit offerings and employee demographics to determine best voluntary benefit strategy;Support the clients’ benefit marketing process: data acquisition, RFP preparation, vendor question resolution, proposal review and analysis, exhibits, and client presentation preparation;Participate in the development, implementation and management of client specific project plans;Assist with the development/review of communication strategies and materials such as contracts, newsletters, benefit summaries, and product brochures;Answer client and internal questions regarding product provisions and rules;Assist with various tasks when needed, including but not limited to: benchmark analysis, annual requests for information, and contact list updates.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Working towards Bachelor’s Degree, preferably within Risk Management, Insurance or general Business;Prior internship experience in a benefits brokerage, consulting, or insurance industry is preferred;Effective analytical, math and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, strong decision making ability, confidence to make difficult decisions and excellent communication skills;Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to translate big picture ideas into client objectives.COMPETENCIES:
