MUFG seeking a Vice President for our Strategic Planning Department in Manila. This is an opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the branch, where your expertise in project management, corporate communication, and strategic planning will be valued and nurtured. You will thrive in an inclusive environment that encourages knowledge sharing, supports professional growth, and values your ability to connect with colleagues across departments.
**What you'll do:**
As Vice President Strategic Planning Department, you will be at the heart of driving strategic initiatives that shape both day-to-day operations and long-term objectives. Your role will involve overseeing complex projects that span multiple departments, ensuring seamless collaboration between teams while maintaining high standards of governance. You will be responsible for gathering critical data that informs decision-making at all levels of the organisation. By guiding corporate communication efforts—including branding, media relations, crisis management, and social responsibility—you will help elevate the branch’s reputation both internally and externally. In addition to supporting major events and regulatory audits, you will play a crucial role in developing frameworks that enhance business strategy across the branch.
+ Collaborate with the Head of Strategic Planning Department and team members to identify branch challenges and propose effective solutions for continuous improvement.
+ Lead branch-wide and head office-driven projects, acting as the central point for expense management and data oversight.
+ Coordinate with departments to gather accurate data on revenue, expenses, and transaction volumes to ensure precise performance reporting.
+ Analyse financial information from other banks to prepare periodic reports for senior management and foster collaboration with affiliates.
+ Maintain Business Collaboration Frameworks and Procedures with affiliates, ensuring compliance with corporate communication standards.
+ Oversee Corporate Communication efforts, including branding, media relations, internal communications, crisis management, and CSR initiatives.
+ Support management during key events by hosting functions, media briefings, or other organisational activities.
+ Monitor financial forecasts and projections while coordinating with business units for effective expense management aligned with long-term strategies.
+ Mentor department staff to strengthen their skills, support development plans, and enhance overall team capabilities.
**What you’ll bring:**
In this position, your background should reflect substantial experience managing multifaceted projects within reputable financial institutions or consulting environments. Your academic credentials—anchored by a Master’s degree—will complement your practical understanding of regulatory frameworks governing banking operations. You bring not only technical acumen but also refined interpersonal abilities that enable you to communicate clearly across all levels of the organisation. Your approach is systematic yet adaptable; you excel at navigating complex scenarios by drawing upon both logical analysis and empathetic engagement with colleagues. As someone who values precision without losing sight of broader strategic objectives, you are adept at synthesising large volumes of data into actionable insights. Your mentoring style is supportive rather than directive; you take pride in helping others grow professionally while contributing positively to team morale. Above all else, your dependability ensures that every task—from audit coordination to event hosting—is executed flawlessly.
+ Demonstrated experience in project management within financial institutions or consulting firms with at least three years of progressive responsibility.
+ A Master’s degree coupled with strong foundational knowledge of central bank regulations, compliance guidelines, operational procedures, market practices, information security protocols, and banking products.
+ Proven track record—preferably two years—as Chief of Staff or similar capacity involving people management responsibilities.
+ Exceptional written and oral communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with internal teams as well as external stakeholders including government agencies and affiliates.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with detail-oriented work habits that ensure accuracy in all deliverables.
+ Experience coordinating audits conducted by head office representatives or external regulatory bodies such as BSP or PDIC.
+ Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate teamwork across diverse groups while supporting individual development plans for junior staff members.
+ Capacity for analytical thinking allowing you to evaluate options thoroughly before recommending solutions or alternatives that align with organisational goals.
