Major Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide philanthropy operations systems, policies, and workflows. 
• Direct functions including data and gift processing, donor services, analytics, prospect research, and CRM technology. 
• Ensure philanthropy operations across all regional foundations are aligned with enterprise standards and compliant with legal, ethical, and audit requirements. 
• Partner with IT, Finance, and Compliance to ensure seamless integration between philanthropy systems and enterprise platforms. 

• Oversee the development of data governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of donor information across all platforms. 
• Lead the strategy and optimization of CRM technology (e.g., Blackbaud, Salesforce, or equivalent) to drive fundraising efficiency and insight. 
• Establish a systemwide analytics infrastructure that delivers actionable performance dashboards, pipeline reports, and campaign analytics. 
• Ensure data-driven decision-making and transparency in all aspects of philanthropy performance. 

• Collaborate with Finance to oversee philanthropy financial operations, including gift accounting, fund tracking, and audit preparation. 
• Manage compliance with IRS, state, and federal regulations as well as internal policies governing fundraising and donor stewardship. 
• Develop consistent gift acceptance, donor recognition, and stewardship policies across all foundations. 
• Maintain appropriate controls and risk management practices for gift processing, receipting, and acknowledgment. 

• Partner with the VP of Philanthropy Strategy and Governance and regional foundation presidents to align operational priorities with system strategy. 
• Provide shared operational services, tools, and training to support local fundraising success. 
• Foster a culture of collaboration, service, and continuous improvement within philanthropy operations teams. 
• Build strong relationships across system functions including Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Mission Integration to ensure enterprise alignment. 

• Lead and mentor a team of professionals responsible for data management, analytics, donor services, and operations. 
• Champion professional development and advancement opportunities for operations staff across the philanthropy enterprise. 
• Foster an inclusive, mission-driven culture grounded in Advocate Health’s values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

None Required.

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree.

Experience Required:

At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in philanthropy operations, advancement services, or nonprofit infrastructure management. 
  - Demonstrated success leading multi-site operational systems and governance frameworks in complex organizations. 
  - Expertise in CRM technology, data governance, and financial management for fundraising operations.

 - Deep understanding of fundraising systems, data analytics, and gift processing operations. 
  - Strong strategic planning and project management skills. 
  - Exceptional collaboration, communication, and leadership ability in matrixed environments.
