Job Description
Associates in RBC's Infrastructure Solutions group play a critical role in the successful origination and execution of advisory and financing transactions for our not-for-profit and governmental clients. Infrastructure Solutions operates within RBC's Municipal Finance franchise and focuses on delivering innovative solutions to the firm’s clients, including but not limited to:
Energy-as-a-service partnerships to fund distributed energy infrastructure improvements, including solar energy systems, battery storage, combined heat and power facilities, and other on-site generation technologies delivered through design-build-finance-operate-maintain (DBFOM) structuresReal estate portfolio optimization strategies, including sale-leaseback transactions, capital-to-lease structures, ground lease monetization, and other balance sheet management solutionsPublic-private partnerships and alternative delivery modelsAs a full-service investment bank, RBC supports clients with a variety of products and services. Infrastructure Solutions partners across the firm to deliver RBC’s complete capabilities, including:
Municipal Capital MarketsPrivate PlacementsCorporate Banking & Direct LendingMergers, Acquisitions and Strategic AdvisoryStructured Finance SolutionsWhat will you do?
Support the execution of advisory and financing transactions for healthcare systems, universities, K-12 school districts, municipalities, and other public entitiesBuild detailed financial models to analyze project economics, cash flow projections, and credit metricsPrepare marketing materials and transaction documentation including requests for proposals, confidential information memorandums, offering memorandums, and rating agency presentationsConduct due diligence including financial statement analysis, operational metrics review, and third-party report analysisDevelop expertise in municipal finance, energy-as-a-service models, and real estate monetization strategies through research, market analysis and industry relationshipsCreate pitch materials and client presentations that articulate transaction structures and RBC's advisory capabilitiesCollaborate with senior bankers on client relationship management and participate in client meetingsWhat do you need to succeed?
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field3+ years of experience in investment banking, municipal finance, infrastructure finance, real estate finance or related fieldsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical skills with attention to detailProficiency building financial models and performing financial statement analysisAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlinesAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordNice to Have
Understanding of tax-exempt & taxable financial products and municipal bond marketsKnowledge of energy-as-a-service models and real estate monetization strategiesFamiliarity with FASB and GASB accounting principles and not-for-profit financial statementsSeries 79 and Series 63 licensesWhat’s in it for you?
