Description of company trying to explain culture, growth of company and the environment Position Description: The VP – HPC Data Centers is a senior leadership role reporting to the SVP of Global Data Center Operations, responsible for guiding design, operability, sales, contract administration, and SLA management for all HPC-driven data center projects. Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement best-in-class operational standards, policies, and procedures Overseeing uptime, reliability, efficiency, and safety while also ensuring continuous improvement and world-class customer satisfaction; additionally oversee operational systems supporting access control, Client, EPMS, CMMS, and other relevant systems.
+ Administer Facility Management (FM) contracts Ensuring compliance, performance, and operational excellence from service providers; oversee Facility maintenance strategies including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution.
+ Plan and execute operational budgets Monitor expenditures, drive cost-optimization initiatives, and collaborate closely with internal teams (sales, finance, legal, engineering) to support asset optimization, financial performance, and growth strategies.
+ Lead the operational strategy for data center facilities. Covering critical infrastructure (power, cooling, security, compliance), network connectivity, and safety; ensure compliance, business continuity, and risk mitigation aligned with corporate objectives and industry standards.
+ Provide expert design, operability, and technical input during development. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and general contractors to ensure highly resilient and efficient HPC data center builds; support strategy for ongoing site expansions, changes, and critical maintenance to ensure future-proof design.
+ Drive sustainability initiatives. Energy efficiency (PUE) improvements, and ESG compliance in alignment with corporate objectives and customer contracts.
+ Lead technical sales engagements. Serving as the chief technical resource for customer inquiries during pre-sales and RFP processes; act as the primary operational liaison with customers, providing transparency, reporting, and strategic alignment with their operational goals; manage SLAs with end-use clients to guarantee uptime, reliability, and adherence to technical and operational requirements.
+ Oversee teams of in-house and external engineers, operations leaders, and support staff in high-density, critical facilities environments; support acquisition, due diligence, and asset disposition activities as part of the company’s asset strategy.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum 10 years' experience in the data center industry, with direct operational and/or oversight for critical facilities at a reputable colocation or hyperscale provider.
+ Demonstrated success leading data center teams through rapid growth, new builds, and high-density technical environments.
+ Deep knowledge of power, cooling, facility management, and control systems for HPC/data center environments.
+ Strong communication skills and executive presence, enabling effective collaboration with customers, leadership, and strategic partners.
+ Excellent financial acumen, including budget management, cost control, and financial planning.
+ Proven experience with SLA management, service provider contracts, and technical sales activities.
Education & Certifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or control systems) or related technical discipline; advanced degree and/or PE qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering strongly preferred.
